While the ecommerce revolution rages on, the Shopify ecosystem is getting increasingly competitive. Luckily, there are a bunch of Shopify agencies out there, ready to help you get set up. Most of the time, geospecific solutions know the local ecommerce landscape best.

We are proud to recently have launched Danish furniture brand New Works’ webshop on Shopify. They were previously on SquareSpace, but as their business grew Shopify was the more mature option.
We really loved working on this project, as we got to use the new Storefront API and create a custom single page application. This gave us total freedom on design, to make sure what we produced would match the high quality products and tactile experiences that New Works is getting their recognition for.
We see increased competition with several new and very good shop platforms. But Shopify is still a very strong player, with a very mature platform and a well-developed eco-system of apps, partner agencies and freelancers.
We’re eager to see further development on the recent Shopify Markets (multi-currency and multi-language features), as this has been one of the biggest drawbacks for major ecommerce solutions looking to Shopify for all the other things they are great at.
It’s also going to be interesting to see how Shopify competes against platforms that are natively API-based (headless ecommerce), as we will definitely be developing way more of those customised experiences in 2023.

One of our most recent projects was the webshop project for Læsk Kombucha.
Læsk produces kombucha in Denmark and in connection with their strategy has chosen to have their entire brand rebuilt. Here, we used the new identity and built a webshop, which creates a universe and community for the product.
The result was a very abstract design that did not interfere with the buying opportunities.
Shopify is still developing, and in the coming years we will also see a platform that will be even stronger for building brands across countries.
Shopify's current merchants are also going to change. Larger ecommerces will also join the platform. These will be different solutions from those we see today. These ecommerces will use Shopify's powerful engine for order processing, but build a headless setup so administration and customization happens on their own terms.
Ecommerce in general will start to move in a direction where one chooses technology that already exists so that one can focus on the strategy, products and marketing.

3. Black Lemon
Black Lemon is a Danish Shopify Agency building both custom and plug-and-play platforms for some of the biggest Danish companies.
We’ve been building platforms for many years in different CMS, but have throughout the last couple of years decided to specialise in Shopify. Now our goal is to become the biggest Scandinavian Shopify agency.
Performance and speed as main goals
Just recently we launched a new site for a rather big company. The platform was completely custom and the project allowed us to go above and beyond with innovative solutions to meet the client’s needs.
Now that the new site is live, we’ve seen great improvement of performance and speed, which was one of the main goals for the project.
The recent connect-to-consumer update has solved a lot of the previous requests we’ve had from our clients. This means that with the new Shopify native features, we can keep our focus on taking our clients' stores to the next level with new custom features.
The next 12 months for ecommerce are going to be both challenging and exciting. We have a lot of different projects in the pipeline which we are looking forward to.

Growbix is a digital growth agency whose purpose is to create the future winners of ecommerce. We do this by combining our expertise within digital strategy, online marketing, webdesign, and content development.

One project we are proud of is the ongoing collaboration with Totteland, who has been setting records since we started working with them.
The idea was to create a growth strategy on different platforms, which contained conversion optimization. Based on data analysis and design know-how we created a simple webpage where the visual was key. This change actually meant that it only took 4 clicks for a visitor to convert.
In combination with paid ads, influencer marketing and email marketing, where everything was monitored and analyzed in Shopify, Totteland created their first monthly million turnover after a few months.
Sometimes you don't have to create a new brand identity or make everything be innovative. Small changes, optimization and monitoring is the key to a successful company and website. Keep an eye out for the data and analyze how that can be optimized and maintained.
Based on our data and our +50 customers then ecommerce performance overall took a fall in 2021 and 2022 compared to the prior years. Because of a change in spending behaviour because of factors such as the Russo-Ukranian War and the global stock issue.
With that being said, ecommerce is here to stay and we predict that we have only scratched the surface of the market potential.
Platforms such as Shopify are agile in keeping its agility to adapt to the user behavior. This is also the case for our own strategy.

Of course, we have an issue with the current global economic situation, but besides that, at Vitalmedia, we're 100% sure that ecommerce in general is the way to go when it comes to digital business strategies.
